About Me
|
In her own words, "If you want it, feel it, love it, and believe
it, then stand up and get it." This is the motto that Sarah
Heavrin lives by in order to accomplish her goals, and realize
her professional ambitions of a career in the Music Industry.
Her story begins in Parsons, Kansas where she was raised with her
two younger brothers in a musical household. She admits that
some of her happiest childhood memories include sitting next to
her father singing The Beatles, and alongside her mother while
she played Classical music on the piano. She started recording
herself in her early teenage years, singing Mariah Carey songs,
but never thought of a singing career as an option. It wasn't
until her first year of college at the University of Kansas that
she recognized the possibility of turning her childhood dream
into reality. After three years of floating through college, and
writing music with her youngest brother Pat, she moved to NYC to
start her career. Musical influences stemming from childhood
like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey inspired her to write a Pop
album, which she wrote in her apartment on 54th Street in Hells
Kitchen. She recorded her album and sent it out to multiple
record labels, but her efforts were unsuccessful. She also
performed live with a Southern Rock band but later declined the
opportunity to be their lead singer in order to pursue her solo
act. After three discouraging years in NY, she came to the
realization that her dreams were not going to materialize and
decided to return to Lawrence, KS. It was during this time that
she regained her confidence and restructured her sound.
Influences such as Linda Perry, Sheryl Crow and Linda Ronstadt
inspired her to lean towards the Rock/Country Rock genre. She
found herself back to where she started writing music with her
younger brothers and father. Her debut album "Seven 2 Seven" was
written from a collection of past experiences. In her own
words, "People respect and appreciate what is real and comes
straight from the heart". After writing the acoustic album with
her family, she took it down to Nashville in order to make a full
production of it. The first day she was there she met the
legendary, Porter Wagoner, at Bayou Recording, and took it as a
sign- she knew she was on the right path, and in the right place
to record her project. Since then she has teamed up with Bayou
Recording's head Engineer, Jesse Poe, and Producer/Engineer, Dave
Matthews, to record, master and promote the album. She currently
resides in Nashville, TN, and is co-writing with Eddie Bush from
One Flew South(Decca), Lee Roy of The Roys and Analisa Gram, who
has written for well known acts such as George Strait and Martina
McBride.
