MUSICandMODELING.com had the pleasure of interviewing the R&B songstress, Tanya T6, a protégé of producer Dame Grease. Technology failed us that night, due to a rain storm that erased more than half of our recording. Easy-going, go-getter. An oxymoronic phrase to some, but a bona fide and oh-so-charming personality mark of R&B sensation Tanya T6. Conversation flowed naturally as T6 shared her plight as a female artist hustling in the music industry. An honest hustle, that is. In a day where many try to make a quick music buck without truly understanding the business side of the industry, Tanya T6 started out entertaining as a model with a hobby in gymnastics. Spectators and fans can expect more than a soulful rhyme in one of her performances. With a background in entertainment, T6 is a born performer, and her connection to legendary producer Dame Grease proves her talent.
I’m a chick who loves to hear about the struggle behind the scenes, which validates whether an artist has a passion for her craft or a scheme for more green, the latter a complete turn off. I have to say that while chatting with Ms. T6, I have newfound respect for the hustle (for women, that is). Her personal life style matches her drive for musical success. She’s a fitness buff, a runner and vegan. Yes, I said it. A vegan. She even convinced me to give the no-meat-or-dairy living a try—such a charmer. I may take her up on the fitness challenge, but I will think about dumping the dairy. Such an inspiration.
