Music Producer Drew Correa MUSICandMODELING.com: Describe a typical day in the life of Drew Correa.
Drew Correa: Wake up, knock some beats out, run to the hit factory in Miami to see who's working and see who needs what. My managers always calling me letting me know who's looking for tracks. Send massive amounts of emails with beats to all of the artists that I know and have connects with. Just really just hustling and grinding everyday.

MUSICandMODELING.com: Real busy, huh?
Drew Correa: Yes, absolutely.

MUSICandMODELING.com: What's in your cd player/ipod right now?
Drew Correa: Drake, he's that new cat from Young Money, I'm in love with that mixtape, So Far Gone. I was just blasting it on the way over here.

MUSICandMODELING.com: What equipment do you use?
Drew Correa: MPC 2500, Phantom keyboard, Motif keyboard, Emu Orbit Racks, I just started using Logic. I'm doing music in Logic a lot more now. Yeah, Logic definitely.

MUSICandMODELING.com: Any equipment that you like but don't yet have?
Drew Correa: Probably, just more synths that a lot of people dont have. Maybe I can get somebody to build me a specific synth just for me.

MUSICandMODELING.com: You've been producing for 4 to 5 and you were already grammy nominated for Lil Wayne's Mr. Carter... what's next for you?
Drew Correa: I just got something on Fat Joe's new album, I'm working with Travis from Gym Class Heroes, he's doing a solo project and just got signed to Nappy Boy, T-Pains label. I'm kind of under Nappy Boy too so I'm doing a bunch of stuff for his album which is coming out crazy. A lot of pop stuff like Paulina Rubio's English album, just sent some stuff for Leona Lewis, Rhianna. I have a bunch of stuff in the works right now that I'm still waiting on. You going to hear a lot from me later this year.

MUSICandMODELING.com: Are you signed to Nappy Boy Publishing?
Drew Correa: Yes, exactly.

MUSICandMODELING.com: In a recent interview you mentioned you kind of tricked Lil Wayne into thinking the hook for Mr. Carter was sampled... has little Wayne found out about it and if so what was his reaction?
Drew Correa: We never spoke about it after I showed him the track. I think his reaction would just be shocked when he finds out that it's not. I don't know if he knows or not because we never spoke about it. So he might know and he might not. I don't know. [laughs]

MUSICandMODELING.com: If there was one thing you could change about the industry what would it be?
Drew Correa: Album sales... they're so horrible right now. Everyone is hurting from it. Producers are not getting paid as much as they used to. Labels know a lot of artists aren't going to sale albums so they focus more on one hit wonders which kind of sucks. That's another reason why people aren't buying albums because labels know their artist aren't going to have a long term career and the consumer will only like that one song from the artist and just download it instead of buying the album.

Drew Correa
MUSICandMODELING.com: Of all the tracks you've produced so far do you have a favorite? If so, why is that your favorite?

Drew Correa: One of my favorites right now is the joint I just did with Travis McCoy called Critical. It's kinda has a rock vibe to it. We just did it last week at the Hit Factory.

MUSICandMODELING.com: What advice would you give up and coming producers?

Drew Correa: Always stay positive. It took me a long time and a lot of hard work to get where I'm at. Don't try to be a producer just for the fact that you're trying to make a lot of money. Do it for the music. Always keep your artistic integrity with everything you do. Love what you're doing. Don't try to dumb yourself down for anyone.

MUSICandMODELING.com: Do you have or are you working on any new projects that we should look out for?

Drew Correa: I think I just mentioned that. [laughs] Fat Joe, Travis McCoy, Paulina Rubio, Rhianna, Lupe Fiasco. Drake, I just got his number and I'm about to call him and tell him "Yo, lets do this."

MUSICandMODELING.com: Final thoughts?

Drew Correa: Look out for my new shit. [laughs] Check out my Myspace. That's pretty much it.
