MUSICandMODELING.com: How did you get your start in the beauty industry?
Demy Semino: I started in the beauty industy by going to Gabriel Productions Makeup School at the age of 14 and have been freelancing ever since.
MUSICandMODELING.com: Tell us about your training? Was it formal or were you self-taught?
Demy Semino: I am certified in Corrective Makeup Artistry from Gabriel Productions Makeup School, October 2002.
MUSICandMODELING.com: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Demy Semino: I love to help people in all aspects, when they look at themselves in the mirror at the finished product and tell me they love it, I feel like I accomplished my job!
MUSICandMODELING.com: What do you find most challenging about your job?
Demy Semino: I'd definitely have to say self promotion is the hardest part, gaining a solid clientel.
MUSICandMODELING.com: Where do you find your inspiration?
Demy Semino: Everywhere, all around me, nature is always my first inspiration, next would be recreating legendary looks such as marylin monroe.
MUSICandMODELING.com: Who is/was your mentor or makeup role model?
Demy Semino: I don't have any one particular makeup role model but I do take aspects from different ones for example bobbi brown and estee lauder.
MUSICandMODELING.com: What is lacking in the makeup artists today that you notice?
Demy Semino: Formal training, I find that a lot of people call themselves makeup artist and don't know certain techniques that are taught in the formal setting such as contouring and highlighting techniques.
MUSICandMODELING.com: What are three important skills required to be a makeup artist?
Demy Semino: People skills, one must be able to relate to the customer and be able to handle constructive criticism, dedication, and definitely flexibility, you must always be willing to learn new things for example the ever changing looks and industry.
MUSICandMODELING.com: What are some of your favorite products for hair and makeup?
Demy Semino: I love MAC (the foundation to powder compact), Cinema secret products (foundation primer), Smashbox products as well as Urban Decay (Urban decay eyeshadows and glitter liners are my favorite). For hair I like all Redken products & the CHI straightening iron.
MUSICandMODELING.com: Give us your best trick of the trade tip.
Demy Semino: I always apply the lipstick on before the liner I find that it lasts longer this way and with time doesn't bleed into the creases of the lips the way it would occur if you applied it the traditional way with the liner on first.

Demy Semino: I love anything with bright fun colors, smokey eyes is also a favorite.

Demy Semino: Not any big projects just my regular freelance work.
