Q. Name?
A. Camrey Oczkowski

Q. Hometown and current location?
A. Born in Utica, NY currently living in Greenville, SC

Q. Occupation?
A. Model, Bartender, Full time student at Converse College double majoring in Psychology and Art Therapy and minoring in Studio Art

Q. How long have you been modeling?
A. Believe it or not only about 2 months! And I love every minute of it!

Q. How did you get started in modeling?
A. My manicurist kept bugging me to submit photos to modeling agencies. I told him no, no, no, but every time I went for my manicure he would get onto me about it. So finally I did and I got picked up! I owe it all to him!! Thanks Frank!

Q. What separates you from other models?
A. I don't take myself too seriously. Being able to laugh at yourself and have a good relationship with your photographers and people around you allow you really open up and not only show a beautiful face, but a beautiful personality and inner light.

Q. What is your dream modeling assignment?
A. I would love, just absolutely love to work with Adriana Lima on a runway show. I adore her, her style, enthusiasm, and personality.

Q. What have been some of the highlights of your career?
A. Well, since my career holds the long life of 2 months- haha, I suppose the highlight is yet to come. Each shoot I improve myself, my style, and try new to bring new creativity and passion to my work. Highlights I hope to have would be to be featured in magazines- get my name out there even more, and work with the best high fashion and glamour photographers around the world.

Q. Any negative experiences? If so, how did you handle it?
A. At first, yes. Some photographers can have strong influences on you, and try to push positions, clothes, or ideas on you that you may not be entirely comfortable with. When that situation happened to me I had to be strong and remember, NO one can make me do something I don't want to do. I tell myself this is MY life, MY body and MY decision on how I want to portray myself. Once you put your foot down and let people know where the line is, they are less likely to try and cross it.

Q. What are your goals, both long term and short?
A. Long term I would like to take my modeling career as far as I can and continue to further my education with a Masters in Art Therapy and my Doctorate in Psychology. Eventually I would love to travel to impoverished countries and put my education into practice and try to better the quality of life for others. Short term my goals are just to enjoy the time that I have- meet new people, make new connections, stay healthy and fit and just to welcome each day as it comes in a positive light. Sounds easy ,but sometimes short term goals can be just as challenging as the long term!

Q. What's in your CD player right now?
A. A very romantic song by Orquesta La Palabra called El Tun Tun De Tu Corazon. It is just BEAUTIFUL.

Q. Three things that you could not live without?

A. My Cell phone, Mascara and my toothbrush haha.

Q. What other talents do you have besides modeling?

A. I am an artist and one of my pieces entitled "Truth I Can't Erase" was recently chosen to be exhibited in an exclusive gallery showing for the Monotype Guild of New England. Also, I salsa dance and hopefully (if I practice enough) I will be performing en La Gala this coming March 2009.

Q. What advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue a career as a model?

A. My advice is to not let anyone stop you. If modeling is something you want to do, then put your mind to it, figure out what you have to do, and do it. There are so many people that want to see you fall- but there are so many others that want to see you succeed. Just surround yourself with positive, good people- have a strong base of support and GET IT GIRL! (And Guys!!)

Q. What question do you wish we had asked you?

A. What is something embarrassing that happened to you?

Q. What is your answer to that question?

A. When I first started bartending I didn't know what the liquor "Black Label" was. The previous club I worked at never carried it so I didn't even know what the bottle looked like. So when I started at a really nice club-someone ordered it, well I didn't know what it looked like so I just looked for a bottle with a "black label" going across it, oh yes, I found a bottle... of Jack Daniels with that black label across the front. The whole night I poured this poor guy JD instead of Black Label. What makes it even funnier is I went out with the guy a few weeks later and I was telling him the story of what I did, not realizing it was the same person. (I'm terrible at faces and names). So I'm all laughing, telling him how the guy never knew and how I thought it was the funniest thing ever, and the guy I was out with finally admitted it was him who was ordering black label all night and now he understood why he woke up with a headache the next morning. I was SO embarrassed.

Q. Do you have any upcoming projects that we can look out for?

A. Possibly, I am in the process of working with Brad Allen. I might be on a magazine he is editing. Unfortuenly, since these are not just photos and magazines take forever to get set up, I won't know for a while. I am super excited but very impatient so the first work of good new I'll shoot this way!!

Q. Final thoughts on our site or what's on your mind?

A. I love the site, it's a great way for all types of artists to express their talents, interests, abilities and also to become more well known. It's a great tool for networking as well as just meeting new and interesting people. I am a huge supporter of MusicandModeling and feel honored to be the feature talent for September!
