Phonte - Charity Starts At Home

#newtigallonewtigallonewtigallo

EXACTLY 100 days after the release of his critically-acclaimed debut, Charity Starts At Home, Phonte drops the first video from the project. “Dance In The Reign” is the opening song on CSAH, an uptempo head-nodder that gives Phonte room to pack in his trademark wit, wordplay, and punches.

Suicide mission, straight sabotagin’
Flow so addicting it’s like habit formin’
Flow hair-raising it’s like rabbit farmin’
Peter Cottontail hopping over beats or rocking
Acappells since the days of Akinyele..

The video is directed by Kenneth Price, who has also done a lot of work for (9th Wonder’s) Jamla artists. The black-and-white video centers around Phonte and a live show (with 9th as DJ), nothing too fancy aside from some quick cuts. Simple, but very enjoyable. The viewer can focus on the track and Phonte’s always-impressive delivery. As you might can tell, Phonte gets a lot of spin around the MusicandModeling.com office. We hope that it won’t be another 100 days before another video.

(And we hope that it will be “The Life of Kings”)
